Consultative Implementation and Monitoring Council

The Consultative Implementation and Monitoring Council (CIMC) is an independent organization established to provide a support mechanism for policy dialogue and coordination between Government and civil society including the private sector. The Council is chaired by the Minister for National Planning, who reports all CIMC matters to the National Executive Council.

The CIMC comes together to discuss on key Government Policy Initiatives, hence, a two-way communication channel. CIMC stood as an alternate body and has been providing policy oversight to help influence policy outcomes and collectively keeping checks and balances of significant Government policies and legislations over the years.

CIMC was mandated to establish two consultative mechanisms. (1) The sectoral or thematic consultative groups; and (2) the annual regional and national development forums gauge wider views of citizens on issues of national importance across the country.

The CIMC was also mandated to promote joint applied research on relevant economic and social policy issues. To date, CIMC has ten (10) sectoral committees and programs and conducts four (4) annual regional development forums and one (1) national development forum annually.

The sectoral committees include:

(1) Agriculture & Natural Resources;

(2) Informal Economy;

(3) Transport & Infrastructure;

(4) Law & Order;

(5) Health, HIV/AIDS & Population;

(6) Education & Training;
